Vic: Dumping Nixon would delay recovery: Cameron

Victorian Police Minister BOB CAMERON says a change of leadership would delay the bushfire
reconstruction effort.

The state government says it's not reconsidering CHRISTINE NIXON's job as head of the
reconstruction authority .. despite her controversial evidence in the past week at the
bushfire royal commission.

The former police chief is under intense pressure to quit .. after telling the commission
she left the emergency coordination centre early on Black Saturday for a pub dinner with
friends.

Mr CAMERON has told ABC radio .. continuity of leadership is critical .. and anything
which slows down the rebuilding isn't going to help anyone.
