SA: CFS mop up after crop fire
ADELAIDE, Dec 25 AAP - A six-kilometre square area of stubble and crops, including
lupins and wheat, was destroyed by fire in South Australia yesterday.
A Country Fire Service spokesman said the fire near Coonalpyn, about 150km east of
Adelaide, had also damaged a large amount of fencing, agricultural pipes and bailed straw.
The fire came within 15km of the Dukes Highway, the main thoroughfare between Adelaide
and Melbourne.
The spokesman said 13 CFS units controlled the blaze, adding the cause was still being
investigated.
